Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
- Mix in vanilla extract and milk on low speed until smooth.
- Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Divide batter evenly between prepared pans and smooth the tops.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown; a toothpick should come out clean.
- Let cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
