Ingredients
- Pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 cups ripe Roma or San Marzano tomatoes
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Blend the tomatoes into a smooth sauce and season with salt and olive oil.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to about 12 inches in diameter.
- Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough and add torn pieces of mozzarella.
- Bake on a preheated pizza stone or baking sheet for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil, drizzle with olive oil, slice, and serve.
