- 1 lb fresh crab meat
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the onions and garlic; sauté until soft and fragrant.
- Stir in the flour to form a roux, cooking for about 2 minutes until golden brown.
- Gradually whisk in the chicken broth, bringing it to a gentle simmer for 10 minutes.
- Fold in the crab meat and shrimp; cook until seafood is pink and opaque (about 5 minutes).
- Lower heat and stir in heavy cream and Old Bay seasoning; simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with a squeeze of lemon juice on top.
