Instructions
- 1. Marinate the chicken: Cover chicken breasts with buttermilk and soak for at least 1 hour.
- 2. Prepare the flour mixture: In a bowl, whisk together flour, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- 3. Dredge the chicken: Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off. Coat each piece thoroughly in the flour mixture.
- 4. Heat oil: In a skillet over medium-high heat, add oil until it shimmers (about half an inch deep).
- 5. Fry: Carefully place chicken in hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides (about 5-7 minutes per side).
- 6. Drain: Remove cooked chicken and drain on paper towels before serving.
