Ingredients

  • Flank or ribeye steak
  • Fresh baguette
  • Sweet onions
  • Colorful bell peppers
  • Fresh garlic
  • Provolone or cheddar cheese
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice steak against the grain into thin strips and chop onions and bell peppers.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced steak, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Add chopped onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Stir until softened, approximately 5 minutes.
  4. Place cheese on top of the meat and veggies in the skillet; cover briefly until melted.
  5. Slice the baguette lengthwise and toast under a broiler until golden brown.
  6. Assemble by layering the cheesy steak mixture onto one half of the toasted baguette, close it up, and slice.
