Ingredients
- Flank or ribeye steak
- Fresh baguette
- Sweet onions
- Colorful bell peppers
- Fresh garlic
- Provolone or cheddar cheese
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Slice steak against the grain into thin strips and chop onions and bell peppers.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced steak, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Add chopped onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Stir until softened, approximately 5 minutes.
- Place cheese on top of the meat and veggies in the skillet; cover briefly until melted.
- Slice the baguette lengthwise and toast under a broiler until golden brown.
- Assemble by layering the cheesy steak mixture onto one half of the toasted baguette, close it up, and slice.
