- 2 cups fresh huckleberries
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter (for dotting)
- 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Roll out the pie crust into a pie dish if using store-bought, or prepare your homemade dough.
- In a mixing bowl, combine huckleberries, sugar, flour, lemon juice, and salt. Mix gently until berries are coated.
- Pour the huckleberry mixture into the prepared pie crust and dot with butter.
- Cover with another layer of pie crust if desired; cut slits for ventilation.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Allow cooling on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before serving.
