Instructions
- 1. Prepare the apples: Wash, peel, core, and chop into small chunks.
- 2. Cook the apples: In a large pot, combine chopped apples, water, lemon juice, and brown sugar. Cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes until the apples break down.
- 3. Spice it up: Stir in cinnamon and allspice; cook for another 10 minutes.
- 4. Blend: Use an immersion blender to purée the mixture until smooth.
- 5. Thicken: Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for about one hour, stirring occasionally until desired thickness is reached.
- 6. Jar it up: Transfer to sterilized jars and seal for storage or gifting.
