  • 1 lb ground turkey or beef (optional)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • Spices (cumin, paprika)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Wash and prepare the bell peppers by slicing off the tops and removing seeds.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté chopped onions until translucent. If using ground meat, add it now and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in the cooked rice, tomato sauce, and spices. Let simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Stuff each pepper with the rice mixture, packing it lightly.
  5. Place stuffed peppers upright in a baking dish. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 30 minutes until tender.
  6. If desired, uncover and sprinkle cheese on top; bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes until melted.
