Ingredients
- 1 can (5 oz) high-quality canned tuna, drained
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup diced dill pickles (optional)
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 slices of thick-cut bread (sourdough, whole grain, or white)
- Butter for grilling
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, and optional pickles. Mix until well combined.
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Place half of the slices butter-side down on a surface.
- Spoon the tuna mixture onto each slice and top with cheddar cheese. Cover with remaining slices of bread, butter-side up.
- Grill sandwiches in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, cut in half, and serve warm.
