- 1/2 cup applesauce
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease your donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix together the applesauce, eggs, milk, and melted butter until smooth.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined; avoid overmixing.
- Spoon or pipe the batter into each donut cavity about three-quarters full.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and springy to touch.
- While cooling slightly, melt butter for dipping; mix brown sugar with cinnamon in a separate bowl. Dip each donut top into melted butter then coat with the brown sugar mixture.
