Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup berries (raspberries or strawberries)
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients by gathering everything on the counter.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually pour this mixture into dry ingredients while stirring gently until just combined.
- Gently fold in berries until evenly distributed.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot over medium heat (around 350°F). Carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil and fry until golden brown on both sides (about 2-3 minutes per side).
- While cooling, mash berries in a bowl and mix with powdered sugar for the glaze. Melt chocolate chips until smooth.
- Dip each cooled donut into the berry glaze, drizzle melted chocolate over them, and let set before serving.
