Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes). Mix in melted butter, salt, and eggs.
  2. Add Flour: Gradually stir in flour until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms.
  3. Knead the Dough: Turn out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let It Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 1 hour).
  5. Create the Filling: Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over it; sprinkle with cinnamon, sugar, cranberries, and orange zest.
  6. Roll Up & Cut: Roll tightly from one edge; slice into about 12 pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Let rolls rise again for about 30 minutes before baking for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Make Frosting: Whip together cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
