- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup dried cranberries, chopped
- Zest of 1 orange
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp milk (for frosting)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes). Mix in melted butter, salt, and eggs.
- Add Flour: Gradually stir in flour until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Turn out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Let It Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 1 hour).
- Create the Filling: Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over it; sprinkle with cinnamon, sugar, cranberries, and orange zest.
- Roll Up & Cut: Roll tightly from one edge; slice into about 12 pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Let rolls rise again for about 30 minutes before baking for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Make Frosting: Whip together cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
