- 4 medium bell peppers (any color)
- 1 cup halal cheese blend
- 1 pound halal ground beef or turkey
- 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
- 1 cup tomato sauce (low-sodium recommended)
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare the bell peppers by washing them, slicing off the tops, and removing seeds.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground meat until fully cooked. Add cooked rice and tomato sauce, mixing in garlic powder, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff each pepper generously with the filling mixture.
- Place stuffed peppers upright in a baking dish. Pour extra tomato sauce over them, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly.
- Let cool for five minutes before serving warm.
