  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • For the Buttercream Frosting:
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream or milk
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter until light and fluffy, then gradually add sugar.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the creamed mixture until just combined.
  6. Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full and bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. For frosting, beat butter until creamy; gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream until smooth.
  8. Frost cooled cupcakes generously.
