Instructions
- Prep your onions by peeling and slicing them into ¼-inch strips.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat; add butter and olive oil until melted.
- Add sliced onions and salt, stirring to coat evenly.
- Cook for 20-30 minutes on medium-low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- When the onions turn deep amber in color, add sugar if desired and cook for an additional 5 minutes until perfectly caramelized.
